Re: Request asstiance with base adjustment
If you have Windows Vista or Win7, you should really be on Audacity 1.3. Sorry to throw mud in the game so early, but there are serious problems with Audacity 1.2.
Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported,
patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can
be unstable on newer computers.
Download and install the latest Audacity 1.3 from here...
http://audacityteam.org/download/
You can install both audacity 1.2 and Audacity 1.3 on
the same computer, but only use one at a time.
Audacity 1.2 will not open projects made on Audacity 1.3.
If you use MP3 or some of the more modern audio
compression formats, get Lame and FFMpeg software
from the same web site. Do not use older software
or software from other web sites, even though they
may have the same names.

The intention (after you update to 1.3.13) is that you click on the link Steve providedMethen wrote:Ok I will update thats no problem but that still didnt answer the oringal question (please)
and read the page to learn how to use Equalization to reduce the bass. Try first of all by choosing Graphic EQ then turn down some of the low frequency sliders (on the left) below half-way point.
You can press "Preview" to hear what it sounds like before applying the effect. Possibly you might want to increase high frequencies too (turn some of the sliders on the right above half-way point). You may even find after reducing the bass that you want to reduce the middle and high frequencies (bass, being the loudest frequencies, can mask thin or "tinny" treble).
In short, experiment with what sounds best to you for that track.
