Hi,
I am desperately trying to get rid of the click track. Recording my voice and have been searching the forum as well as google. No matter what I do I always have the metronome in the background. It does not come in a seperate audio track so i can't click the x. I never turned it on it is automatically there and I can't set the click track on 0. Please help me... I even re-installed audacity.

Re: Turn off click track, help me!
Is it really the metronome? Is every fourth click different?

You also need to upgrade to Audacity 1.3
Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported,
patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can
be unstable on newer computers.
Download and install the latest Audacity 1.3 from here...
http://audacityteam.org/download/
You can install both audacity 1.2 and Audacity 1.3 on
the same computer, but only use one at a time.
Audacity 1.2 will not open projects made on Audacity 1.3.
If you use MP3 or some of the more modern audio
compression formats, get Lame and FFMpeg software
from the same web site. Do not use older software
or software from other web sites, even though they
may have the same names.

Probably not. There are specific files and folders you need to manage to "uninstall" Audacity. If you just resintall the program, you going to get the same one you had before.I even re-installed audacity.

Audacity does not have a "metronome".
A "Click Track" in Audacity is an "audio track" that you can generate from the "Generate" menu and it looks like this:
