It almost sounds like I am in a bathroom. But I am in the same room as my first two recordings. I don't use a mic and I know I could get better sound quality, but I was doing fine, and now there is a big change in the sound of my voice.
So I borrowed my roommates mic and it still had that weird "bathroom" sound to it.
I'm very new to audacity and I don't really know the Lingo too well. so I apologize thank those of you ahead of time who take the time to help.
First 2 recordings great all others suck

Ok so I had and idea and tested it out. I unplugged it from the charger and like magic it worked right again. I even pluged it back in during a recording and it still sounded good and then stopped and recorded another section to test it and still fine. Dont know what was going on but it seems fixed for now.

"I don't use a microphone," means you've been using the laptop's built-in microphone?
Did you just start to record YouTube or Internet Radio Shows? How about brought up a brand-new license of Skype? The Windows setup for doing those completely messes up natural recording.
We don't have a wiki to stop recording Internet Audio, but we have one to start.
Follow these instructions backwards.

In addition, you may have also turned on Windows Enhanced Sound by accident. That will do odd things to your recording.
Windows Enhanced Sound
http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 79&start=0
And if it continues to act completely insane, you may need to upgrade.
Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported,
patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can
be unstable on newer computers.
Download and install the latest Audacity 1.3 from here...
http://audacityteam.org/download/
You can install both audacity 1.2 and Audacity 1.3 on
the same computer, but only use one at a time.
Audacity 1.2 will not open projects made on Audacity 1.3.
If you use MP3 or some of the more modern audio
compression formats, get Lame and FFMpeg software
from the same web site. Do not use older software
or software from other web sites, even though they
may have the same names.
