Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Loading a URL Source to record

Post by adrianbeatty8 » Mon Sep 12, 2011 9:19 pm

Although I find Audacity very useful, I can't figure out how to load a URL source so I can record direct from that source. Anybody got any ideas how to do this?

Audacity has no external sound or internet management and it barely has a timer and then only for one show. I use WireTap and other software products designed to do this. Then I take the show into Audacity for cutting and effects and sometimes creating a sound file for burning to a Music CD. Audacity isn't a burner, either.

The other product that Koz recommends on Windows is TotalRecorder - my wife bought it, as with her latest laptop/W7 it could not be configured to record streaming audio, from her reports it works well.
