Which effect was used?

Hello people, I'd like to get some help with one matter:

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's the same sample. I've tried with bass boost and low pass filter, but it leaves some sort of echo, due to the nature of the original sample.

As you can hear the modified sample sounds like a bass drum, like if you put a pillow between the speaker and your ear.

Try playing with the Change Pitch, Change Speed and Change Tempo effects and lots of Equalization to make the spectrum similar.
There's a lot of weird distortions going one that are hard to identify, but have a metallic kind of sound similar to encoding an MP3 at too low a bit rate.

In short what I want to do is turn a door slam into a bass drum sound. To do that, I need to know how to make the sound smoother, not just filter the lower frequencies.

Or put bass drum on a track beneath the door slam and use the gain slider on the bass drum track to mix in just enough of the bass drum to make the slam more like a drum.
