audacity is not recording my vinyl record

I have looked through all the help topics and even typed in my problem, yet there are no solutions. I have changed steroes, laptops, and records, yet Audacity cannot record my vinyl. When I play my record to record it, I can hear it through my speakers, but all that appears in audacity is a solid straight blue line. I would like to know what to do in order to fix my problem.

I'd highly recommend that you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.13
