Audacity crashes on load

I'm using Vista Home Premium (64 bit) with a Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer sound card. I've verified that I have the correct speakers and recording device set through windows, and tried every compatibility mode. Even so, each time I try to load the program it dies immediately. Is anyone else having this problem?

I'm going with no.
Do you get an error message when it fails?
Are you totally sure you got the right Audacity?
<<<each time I try to load the program >>>
Load it or run it?

The error is the generic "audacity.exe has stopped working". The downloader has "win" in the filename so I'm positive that's not the problem, and I get the crash whenever I try to run Audacity. I can install it without incident.

I was able to fix this problem -
The driver version 2.18.0004 released 30 Jul 08 was the culprit. I rolled back to driver version 2.15.0006 (released 14 Mar 08) and can load Audacity just fine now.

Hello, and welcome to Windows.
Glad you got it working.
