Export to WAV only 20 seconds blocks

This is what I did:

I opened a MP3 into Audacity 1.2.6, cut something out and then opened a new project and pasted it into it. Let's say that part is 3 seconds long and I export is then it becomes a 20 seconds track with 17 seconds silence at the end. If the copied part is 21 seconds long is becomes a 40 seconds track with 19 seconds silence at the end. However when I just record some audio from my microphone the track has the correct length. If I export to OGG everything is alright.

What do I do? How do I get the correct track lenght?

It is a bug in 1.2.6 if you export to WAV or AIFF and the track sample rate (above the mute / solo buttons) does not match the project rate (bottom left of the window). To work around it, change the project rate to the rate of the track, then Project > Quick Mix.

The bug will not be fixed in 1.2, but is already fixed in 1.3.13 Beta.
