Sony ICD SX46 wont work with Win XP 64 Bit

I have the Sony ICD-SX46 digital voice recorder. It came packaged with Digital Voice Editor 3.1. It doesn't work on my Win XP 64 bit computer. Only on 32 bit laptop.

Are there any workarounds for this app? Or any other after market app that will allow me to play the messages. All I need to do is plug in my usb cable and play each track one at a time.

What doesn't work, the Sony or the editing software?
Most digital recorder will appear in Windows XP as exertnal storage device, as long as XP has the necessary drivers to recognise the device. If XP does recognise the device as a storage device, you can simply copy the recordings onto your computer and if they are in a supported format you can edit them in Audacity. If they are net in a supported format, you would need a suitable decoder to change them into a supported format.
Supported formats are WAV, MP3, AIFF, FLAC and OGG.

If your recorder is not recognised by Windows you will need to contact Sony or the dealer that you bought it from.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately no, XP isn't recognizing the Sony recorder. I'm open to other ideas if you have them. Thank you.

Without a driver (that works on your OS) for the Sony device, it is not usable on your PC.
Have you checked here for any updated drivers? http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-li ... egion_id=1

Yes I have contacted Sony, unfortunately they aren't making any efforts to making it compatible with Windows XP 64 bit. Thanks for your efforts.
