Hi,
When I use Freez to convert Flv to mp3 the default frequency is 22050, and the bitrate is 128. Are these good setting for normal listening?
Thanks,
.... john

Re: Flv to Mp3 settings
Why are you asking us? This is the Audacity support forum, not the Freez support forum.
If you were exporting music from Audacity as MP3, I would recommend using the "Standard" Preset - this equates to about 190kbps and is reasonably good quality. 120kbps is the typical setting used on the internet, but is a bit lower in quality than I would want for listening to music.

Hi Steve,
I didn't realize this was an inappropriate question. I think of you guys as the resident gurus concerning these sorts of issues.
Thanks.

Re: Flv to Mp3 settings
No problems john, (flattery will get you most things
)
Hopefully the information I gave answered your question?
Try different compression levels and have a listen to see if the quality is acceptable:
Higher compression = smaller file size / lower quality
Lower compression = larger file size / better quality.
Whenever practical, keep an uncompressed (wav) backup copy, then you can always make new MP3 versions at a later date if you wish (CDs are useful for the backups).
