Drag to Replay?

When I'm playing a track and want to back up a little to hear what was just played, I expect that dragging the play cursor back a little will do that. But it doesn't work this way. I've moved my pointer all around the cursor watching it's shape change, tried dragging everywhere, tried using the shift, alt, and ctrl keys, but nothing works. None of the tool bar buttons or menu choices seem to enable dragging the play cursor. There seems to be two different ways to select a range, but that's all I can find.

Is there a way to do this that I'm missing? If there's no way to do this with dragging, how should I do it? I've looked at the documentation, FAQs, Quick Reference, and forums, and can't find it anywhere. I sure that this is obvious that everyone who has used other editors, but I haven't so I don't know what else to try.

Thanks,
Mike

Audacity does not and has never been able to scrub. You can change the cursor position and play from there.

In Audacity 1.3.5 you can use the cursor keys to change the play position during playback.
