trying to evidence a beat i want to cut, but doesnt work

I will a goof, but cant understand...I put arrow mouse on the timeline on the point I want to begin to cut the beats, but it doesnt work... it starts to reproduce sound, instead, but doesnt stay still in order to make possible to frame and then cut the clip...
anyway, it's a great tool...when I understand a little better how to use it....

Click on the audio track itself and not on the time ruler at the top.

Audacity 1.3.13 is a lot better. I would highly recommend that you upgrade and learn to use Audacity 1.3.13 rather than the old 1.2.6 version.
