Hello !,

I did what I was advised today as : disable my audio internal board Realtek and set the external line6 Toneport
in the sound device from Win xp,
I can record but like you could see on the attached picture : no more choice regarding the input type !!!

Toneport is not a mixer device like your inbuilt sound device where the device offers choices between llne-in, stereo mix and mic (or similar). Toneport just records whatever you plug into it and sends it to the computer over USB.

I understand now, sorry for my slowness !!

I've definitively disabled my realtek internal board, I only have to use the gearbox to record from mic or instrument,perfect
I only have to use this configuration.

Just 2 more questions and I promise I do not bother you more, Ihope ! ) :

1) what I need is to play on backing tracks : my first question is : importing some mp3 into Audacity yesterday run fine but
the speed of the track reading is very too fast ..., I know that lots of people faced this issue (Iconsulted the faqs and forums previous to
create a new topic) but sorry, I did not find exactly the solution to get a correct backing track into Audacity ...

2) If I understand well, may be I have to import another file type, converted from an audio CD or wav file ?

It's not clear this feature,

You mean that they in a couple of seconds when they should be several minutes long?
If that is the case then the format of the file that you are trying to import is not "MP3". It will be some other compressed audio format (such as WMA or AAC) that is not supported by Audacity 1.2.6. If you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.13 and also install FFmpeg, then you will probably be able to import those files correctly.

If you want to be able to export as MP3 you will also need to install Lame: http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=install&i=lame-mp3
