Audacity Forum

I have a M-Audio FastTrack module, and Audacity worked in conjuction with it just fine, but now whenever i open Audacity, and push record, it now says "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate." Which i did, but to no avail. I have no clue why it started doing this, as I changed nothing. Anyone know how to fix this or have this problem themselves? Please help me, i need these tracks done very soon.

Make sure that you have the M-Audio plugged in and recognised by Windows before you open Audacity.

Then open Audacity and check that the recording and playback device settings are correct in Preferences (including default sample rate). If you change any settings, restart Audacity for them to take effect.
