How do I put two or three songs together?
I now have three songs that I have edited and filed away. I want to have these songs played in sequence when I put them on an audio CD - "Concatenating two songs" - as it says in the manual. How do I place these songs together before I export the whole thing for burning to a CD with Windows Media Player?

I hope you mean that you have "Exported" them as WAV files http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Exporttommyvin900 wrote:I now have three songs that I have edited and filed away.
Open Audacity and Import the 3 WAV files.tommyvin900 wrote:How do I place these songs together before I export the whole thing for burning to a CD with Windows Media Player?
Use the "Time Shift" tool to drag the tracks left/right so they are in the correct order http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tools_Toolbar
"Export" as a WAV file (use a different file name to the original tracks)
Use your favourite CD burning program to create a CD.
Note 1.
By making the three tracks into one audio track, they will now appear as one CD track (not 3 tracks).
Note 2.
To make a CD that will play on ordinary CD players you will probably need to specify "audio CD" as the type of CD that you want to create with the CD burning program.

There's a big chunk of the story missing.vinsong wrote:i recorded music with audacity for 4 hours but my laptop went on the screensaver. so now i have 1600 (!) .au files
You were recording for 4 hours, then what? Did Audacity crash? Was your hard drive full?
Have you read this: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Projects

no crash, no full hard disk. just the screesaver went on.
I work with audacity for many years and I just wanna know if anybody knows how to combine / put behind each other .au files. I have them as saved files. Off course I know the ctrl C - ctrl V thing but that's to much work with so many files.
