No sound card found using Vista

Hi can anyone help me??
Audacity does not find my sound card as input for recording using a vista machine.
I have reinstalled drivers and sound card is working fine but not being picked up by audacity.

Any clues?? :x

I think I have the same problem as the poster above, I have a new hp pavilion running vista with a conexant hd audio sound card. I downloaded the stable audacity 1.2.6. Any help would be appreciated.
