Multiple track points in contiguous mix

Hi I am using Audacity 1.2.6 on a windows 7 machine.

What I would like to do is take one long continuously mixed set of music and insert multiple track points

so that the listener may skip ahead to different track points in the mix But keep the whole thing

as one contiguous mp3 file.

Thanks in advance

You should stop there! The recommended version for windows 7 is 1.3.13.
Audacity 1.2.6 will be very unstable if it runs at all.

Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported,
patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can
be unstable on newer computers.

Download and install the latest Audacity 1.3 from here...

If you use MP3 or some of the more modern audio
compression formats, get Lame and FFMpeg software
from the same web site. Do not use older software
or software from other web sites, even though they
may have the same names.

Regarding your request... I don't know of any software or audio format that will allow you to do that. At least not with an mp3. And not one that will work with a standard music player...
