Audacity Forum

yesterday I recently bought a cheap microphone at walmart for like 10 bucks. I downloaded audicity and started to record over an instrumental. when I played it back, I could hardly hear myself it was extremely low, but the music was fine. I dont know if it's my microphone or some setting I can fix on audacity, please help.
