using audacity with vista integrated sound

Post by tinman » Fri Aug 01, 2008 12:26 pm

I have an asus system with integrated sound and windows vista home premium. I wish to record sound which is coming through my speakers. I have freecorder which does this using it's own driver when my browser is open, however I wish to use audacity as a standalone to record from media players. With the integrated sound their is no selection for it in the audacity settings, only for mic, line in and my web cam.

How do I get audacity to record what is coming through my speakers? I have tried selecting the hidden feature but there is no mixer or sound card to select.

When i go to check the driver their is nothing listed for audio drivers.... any help appreciated.

I don't use Vista, but since you have not had a response yet, perhaps you will find some useful information in these links. I would suggest that you try Audacity 1.3.5 as it is a lot more up to date than v.1.2
