Hi forum,
I sure do hope someone can help me out here, or at least direct me to some helpful responses here on the forum for my problem. I have searched the faq and had a look here in the answers but this is a vast database of questions and answers...
In any event, I just purchased a Behringer UC202 to try and do some writing/recording onto the computer.
I can't get a sound out of anything on the computer when the 202 is placed between a Xenyx (Behringer) 1002FX and Windows via a USB port and slected as the playaback/recording device. I am using Windows XP with a SoundMAX sound card that is in the motherboard, not a separate entity. I know, I know. There should still be a way around this stupid cheap little thing though, no?
Interestingly, when I select the Behringer XP automagically cuts back the number of playback devices to only 3 and provides no devices at all on the recording devices list.
Right, I am using Audacity 1.2.6 as my recording software. As well as not hearing anything through Audacity I cannot even hear mp3s of other music through my speakers at the moment.
All of this is with the Behringer UC202 chosen and plugged in at the places it needs to seen including the Audacity preferences dropdown.
I have done everything I can find terms of settings and turning things on and off. I also went in and disabled SoundMAX at the 'settings' level XP.
Is there anything else I can try or that I have missed in my search for answers.
I never seem to post enough information. Please ask if you think you can help but I have not provided sufficient info in this post.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

It is highly recommended that you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.13 http://audacityteam.org/download/imettaman wrote: I am using Audacity 1.2.6 as my recording software.
Audacity 1.2.6 has several known problems on modern computers.
How are your speakers connected to the computer?imettaman wrote:As well as not hearing anything through Audacity I cannot even hear mp3s of other music through my speakers at the moment.
USB audio devices must be connected to the computer and recognised by the operating system before you open Audacity.

As Steve says - and this tutorial from the 1.3 manual may also help you: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Reco ... turntables
although it says it's about USB TTs, most of the information in applies to all USB audio devices.
