Help please! Unwanted overlapping

Post by michaelh95 » Sat Apr 23, 2011 6:30 pm

Ok so I'm on windows xp. i have a 1/4 inch to 3.55 mm adapter plugging my guitar into the line in port. i also have my headphones plugged inito the line out port. When I record one track of a song, it works perfectly fine. but once i add the second track, It records the first trac, and whatever i play, onto the second track. so basiclally i can only make a one track song, without overlapping of tracks.

Go into your sound card settings. You currently have the sound card to record from "Stereo Mix" (may be called "What U Hear" or just "Mix". You need to set the recording input to the specific input that you are using, for example the "Line" input or the "Mic" input.
