Problems with Quick Mix

Post by rbowen47 » Wed Jul 30, 2008 11:39 pm

Greetings All,

I am new to Audacity and wow, what an impressive program.

However, I am having a degree of difficulty with Quick Mix.

My expectation was defined by the statement:
"When you Export your final mix you can use "Ctrl A" to Select All, and all the tracks will be mixed into a single audio file"

However, both "Quick Mix" and Export did much the same thing. The tracks were mixed but the first track was far too loud anjd the last track was so quiet as to be inaudible. All five of the tracks looked fine in the display, the total recording was about 45 minutes, but was not what was expected.

What am I doing wrong?

TIA
Roger Bowen

Try playing the file before you export - the mix should sound the same. (I think I may remember something in Audacity 1.2.6 about "muted" tracks not being muted in the mix, so if you have a problem with muted tracks, try using Audacity 1.3.x beta).
