Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

I want to do something very basic...

I just ordered an audio mixer and I plan to do some free lance voice over work from home. Here is my computer at a glance:

Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.1
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 3, 32 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz, x86 Family 15 Model 4 Stepping 3
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 1013 Mb
Graphics Card: Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family, 64 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 233687 MB, Free - 121434 MB; D: Total - 4775 MB, Free - 2458 MB; M: Total - 238456 MB, Free - 161226 MB;
Motherboard: Intel Corporation, D915GAG, AAC77881-306, BQAG54505594
Antivirus: AVG Anti-Virus plus Firewall, Updated: Yes, On-Demand Scanner: Enabled

I have Audacity, V1.2.6. I also have the newer beta upgrade. There are things about it I'm not real excited about, so I have stayed with the older version for now.

Is there a tutorial out here that would walk me thru using Audacity with the mixer and recording to files on the Hard Drive. I'm not an audio engineer. I'd like to keep this simple so I can use it every day, and only enough to get the job done.

I just finished reading all the help files and, well, I still need some basic help.

Appreciate your suggestions.
