input mixer toolbar not shown

My input for the mixer is not shown. It is greayed out. I want to reocrd via line in and I can only reocord using the mic?

You're missing a lot of info there... Operating System? Audacity versino? Recording device? How do you have it all connected? What is greyed out? Where?

You can select the recording device in Audacity's Preferences -> Devices
Include as much details as you can in your post (Audacity version, Operating System, Equipment used, etc).
Please post your question in the appropriate forum (regarding audacity version and operating system).
