Replacing instruments from one song with another

Post by Astro-Xana » Mon Jul 28, 2008 8:42 pm

For example, if I were to have a classical piece of music with calm instruments playing and if I were to have another piece of music with heavy metal instruments playing, how would I replace the instruments in the classical piece of music with the heavy metal instruments which would result in the heavy metal instruments now playing the classical piece of music?

You record samples from the heavy metal band, then edit them in a sample editor and load them into a sampler, then create a midi sequence of the slow calm track in a suitable midi sequencer, then play the sequence back through the sampler, with the samples associated with the appropriate midi events, then you record the output as audio. You can use Audacity for this last step, and you may be able to use it for some of the editing of the samples.

<<<then create a midi sequence of the slow calm track in a suitable midi sequencer>>>

Shucks. So it's not a filter I can download or something I can do with the equalizer tool?
