Sonicism Vocoder plugin possible?

I have been trying to get the Sonicism Vintage Vocoder to show up and hopefully work in Audacity.

I have not succeeded in even getting it to appear in the list of available plugins.

Has anyone accomplished this, and if so, how did you do it?

I've not tried Sonicism Vintage Vocoder, but the release version appears to only available as a DXi plug-in. DX plug-ins are not currently supported by Audacity.
I presume that as Sonicism Vintage Vocoder is a DXi plug-in, when it is released as a VST it will be a VSTi (VST instrument). VSTi are not supported by Audacity.

For VST (not VSTi) plug-ins, support is much better in Audacity 1.3 than in Audacity 1.2

Do not use the "VST bridge" plug-in with Audacity 1.3

Audacity 1.3 includes a Vocoder effect (in the Effect menu)
