Output Volume

I searched and couldn't seem to find an answer to this question...

I just got a Grace USB turntable and use Audacity 1.2.6 to record. I have had some sucess with "out-of-the-box settings, except for one issue (that was not my fault).

The mp3 file that I created after recording has a very low volume, so much so that I must turn my spearers all the way up when playing back. Not really a big deal, until the next song comes on VERY LOUD.

How can I up the output volume on my files.

Also, my first big oops. NEVER rename a directory while recording to it. Windows allows you to do it, but then everything being recorded gets "lost". Oh well, live and learn!

Thanks

Select the track or tracks in your Audacity Project and use Effect > Amplify - don't be tempted to tick the box that says "allow Clipping"
