I've recently gotten a mic, and started using Audacity to record some messages. I've noticed that as I speak there is a weird voice that follows my tone. It sounds like pieces of metal vibrating, emitting a high-pitched sound.
How I record is that I'm using a headphone mic, but holding it at a distance while holding a thin towel between the mic and myself to filter my "puh" sounds. That's all there really is to my method of recording, so I don't know what I may be doing. Could it be the microphone?

Re: Strange sound emits when recording
It could be, but probably not.
This is about where your red recording meters and blue waves should be for good, clear, live recording. Is that where yours are?
