Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Help! My interface has changed!

Post by steelie1955 » Sat Apr 02, 2011 9:29 am

The bits at the top of the screen, like the input bar and the volume and recording levels bar are in different places than normal.

The volume level used to be on the left, now it's on the right.

What's happened?

How do I set it back?

Which version of Audacity are you using? (Look in "Help menu > About Audacity")
Do you have Audacity "full screen" or as a smaller window? (the toolbars will shuffle around to fit the available space).
The Toolbar options are in the "View" menu. You can enable/disable options here and in Audacity 1.3 there is an option to "Reset" them back to their default positions.
Toolbars may also be dragged out of their normal potions or replaced back into their "docked" positions.
The arrangement of the toolbars is more flexible in Audacity 1.3 than in the old 1.2 version.

It's version 1.2.6

I think everything has changed because I have just installed a new flatscreen monitor, with a totally different resolution than the previous monitor.

I'll get used to the new layout :D
