Audacity Forum

Hi all,

I just picked up a USB microphone. It sounds great. But, I can't play back a track without unplugging the mic. It's a hassle, but the worst thing is, no multi track can be made without hearing what you're recording like using a sound card mic.
Any ideas?

Sorry, I suppose I should add, WinXP, audacity 1.2.6

I'd recommend upgrading to Audacity 1.3 http://audacityteam.org/download/

Go into the audio device settings (Audacity 1.3 "Edit menu > Preferences > Devices". Audacity 1.2 "Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O")
Set the "Playback" device to your sound card.
