Is it possible to automatically create selections?
I have a quick question regarding editing multiple selections. Let's say I have a 2 hour recording and wish to remove/cut 30 specific intervals from it (for example, 00:20:12 - 00:00:25:38, 00:31:21- 00:35:41, etc). All the intervals are already in a plain text file. Is there any way to import the intervals needed to be cut and remove them without manually selecting all of them within Audacity? I tried playing around with labels but it doesn't seem as though they were designed for this application. Thanks in advance for any help.

You can get half way there with Audacity 1.3
Labels are slightly different in Audacity 1.3.x to labels in 1.2.x in that they can mark regions, not just single points.
If you look at an exported label track from Audacity 1.3 you will see the format that it uses.
Label tracks can also be imported.
A labelled region can be quickly selected by clicking on the label name.
