Audacity Forum

I was having problems with tone quality , started playing with some things and now had nothing working. So I uninstalled audacity and reinstalled it . Now I cannot record . I go to edit / preferences / recording and in device window i had no option for usb audio codec . only had microsoft sound mapper or stereo mix realtek high definition. as I was writing this , i went back to check on procedure i went through , now I have nothing in device window. can someone help before I through this thing out a window ?

Probably best to throw out Audacity 1.2 (it's very old) and install Audacity 1.3.
