Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Stopped Working

HELP! I just finished recording a podcast and I have an error message that says "Audacity.exe has stopped working" and it wants to close the program. I can't lose this podcast if at all possible. What can I do (if anything) to either save or recapture the recording I just made?

Are you saying that windows popped up with an error stating "Audacity.exe has stopped working" and you did not save before this happened?

If so, then there is really not much you can do to save the podcast, as far as I know.

If you are using Audacity 1.2 then you have a slim chance of being able to recover the recording using the methods described on this page: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/CrashRecovery
If you are using the latest 1.3 version of Audacity then there's a very good chance that the project will be recovered automatically when you restart Audacity.
