With those two tick boxes selected, what recording devices are listed? Have any new options appeared in that recording tab?

Not sure which one should be selected
Microphone
CD player
Line in
SPDIF in
Aux
Stereo Mix
Wave

In the right clicked box with the two check box's
Disable
Set as default
Show disabled devices (checked)
Show disconnected devices (checked)
Properties

Ok, I found the problem, it was in "set up" so I have it recording but the station sounds like it's in a reverb chamber. What is causing that?

For recording streaming Internet radio you should select "Stereo Mix" (as described here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... trol_Panel )

Seems like this might be a good place to bring this up.

I was chasing a ghost, some of the issues here....... when it really is a volume problem ???

I've checked all my setting via the various Realtek panels etc
And everything is OK, I can listen to things on the web fine or play mp3's thru a player
and volume is normal.

When I record on Audacity, I can see the input bars moving, but when playing back it is
so low that I couldn't hear it..... so there is quite a difference.

Once I discovered this I cranked everything up to the max, now I can here when in playback on Audacity, but
of course when playing other things it is extremly loud.

Any ideas on what the problem is. I'm running 1.2.6

Resolved :
after doing a search I found the issue via the wiki info in this post
