Audacity Forum

I've just started getting to know Audacity--I want to record for the Gutenberg Project. I recorded a few words as a test, then played them back. It worked once or twice and then the output went silent, even though the VU meter seems to be showing an output. Only way to get the sound working again is to reboot. Until then, the sound does not output for any program or for system sounds. Any ideas?

Paul you didn't provide any info about your system so it's hard to suggest any ideas... What operating system do you have? Which Audacity version? What's your recording source? How do you have it connected to the computer?
