I'm afraid this program is way over my head. I'm not technically literate. All I wanted to do was fade out the music at the end of a PowerPoint presentation. So far, I've figured out how to download music in iTunes, then convert it to a .wav file in Danuisoft, then move it into my PowerPoint presentation. Here's my question:
My presentation slide show is 13 minutes long and the music file is 27 minutes. It plays fine under the slides, but at the end of the last slide it just cuts off abruptly. I want it to fade out. So I put "fade out music" in Google and someone recommended Audacity for this purpose. So I downloaded the program. I've been able to drag the file into Audacity. But that's where I'm stuck. I can't figure out the controls. I've accessed the instruction manual, but that assumes I already know how to work the controls.
I just want to play the file for 13 minutes and then have it fade out. How do I do this in Audacity and then how do I get that edited file back into PowerPoint?
Thanks for any help anyone can give me!

Re: Fade sound and transfer file to PowerPoint
1 Click in the track at 13 minutes.
2 Hold SHIFT on your keyboard, press END, then click Edit > Delete.
3 Click in the track where you want to start your fade (for example at 12 minutes 50 seconds) then click Effect > Fade Out.
4 File > Export as WAV.
