Input source does not appear on my tool bar, so I can't record.
This may be a Windows problem, but we never lose an opportunity to get people out of Audacity 1.2.
Audacity 1.2 is no longer support, patched, corrected or updated and hasn't been for a long time. Download and install Audacity 1.3.12 from here...

... and use that. You can install both versions safely, but you may only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 Projects will not open in 1.2.
If you use Lame or FFMpeg, you need to get fresh versions from that same web site. Do Not use old software.
