Audacity Forum

Hello, I am brand new to Audacity, and am attempting to delete the first ~1min. from a song. I tried hitting cntl+x after making the selection, but nothing happened. I tried hitting DEL, and nothing happened. And as you can see in the image below, the Edit > Cut command is greyed out. I tried re-starting the program, and re-trying this, but it has not worked.

I have read the software documentation, various help pages, and the FAQ, but I am still stumped.

Sometimes you can get this if you Pause a recording and not Stop.
