I have a althesis mixer linked from my computer speaker plug to one channel on the mixer IN wich all the computer's output is played (music e.t.c).
Also I have a usb cable going out of the mixer into my computer(this is the imput). The title of the driver is USB CODEC. And for months I've been able to play music, talk throught he mic attached to the mixer and record it. However recently it's not recording anything..
I've checked the preferences and the recording section is set to "USB CODEC" so it sohuld work. But on AirCorder it records both me and the music through the mixer perfectly.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME.!!!!!

Is anything showing up on the record or Playback meters?
Any error messages?
Have you perhaps inadvertently changed the default sample rate ("Edit > Preferences > Quality")

No there's nothing showing on the record/playback meters. At fiirst when I pressed record it said can't find device. But now when I have the record input set to "USB CODEC" it just records silence
I've tried to change the sample rate to see, but I can't remember what it's supposed to be originally

It's most likely 44100 or 48000

That's fairly self explanatory.

What options do you have in the Audacity preferences?
Is this a Vista machine by any chance (shudder).
