64 Bit Version Windows 7

I am about to install a new system using Windows 7 64 bit. I have been looking through the forums and am looking for clarification on a couple of issues.

1. Is there a version of Audacity that works on Windows 7 64 bit? I see references to a beta version but not sure what is latest status.
2. Can I record anything that would be playing in the PC speakers, i.e, from the Internet?

Please forgive me if these have already been answered and I have missed them.

The current 1.3.12 Beta recommended for Windows 7 is a very mature Beta. For most purposes it is the best version to use for Windows 7 because Audacity 1.2.6 has not been developed for several years and pre-dates Windows 7. There will be a 1.3.13 Beta hopefully in the near future which will probably have "official" rather than "provisional" support for WIndows 7. But you will need 64-bit drivers for your sound device.

That depends on your computer sound device, See Help with recording computer playback on the Wiki. Make sure you scroll down to look at the images of "Sound" in the Windows Control Panel because you will have to go there to enable any feature your sound device may have for recording computer playback.
