Can't record second track, computer illiterate
I've used Audacity for a couple of years on my beat up old laptop. Now that I'm trying to use it on my slick new hp g60-243CL Notebook PC, i'm losing my mind because every time I try to add a second track to a project, it doesn't work: it's choppy and it cuts in and out under the first track I just recorded. They're all vocal tracks, I'm using a microphone plug-in. Can somebody explain to me like I'm a three-year-old if there's something I'm supposed to turn off or switch on in some preferences menu to make this not a problem anymore?
