getting started
I recently purchased a Hype device to transfer cassette tapes to my desktop computer. I installed the Audacity program that came with the device (a small disc) and spent hours trying to transfer a cassette. i downloaded instructions and printed them, and still no results. i cannot get even a squawk out of my speakers. So this morning i downloaded the LAME program and still no luck. I guess i need a walkthru from start to end. like turning on computer--clicking on audacity-- turning on hype device??????? can someone help me. I have free long distance and can use computer while on phone. also i am old. maybe that doesn't help matters. lol carl

See this set of tutorials from the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tuto ... iscs_to_CD
wspecially this one: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Reco ... turntables
And I strongly recommend that you upgrade to the latest Audacity 1.3.12 - you can get it from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/
