I'm having a few issues when I open mono MP3 files. I've tried looking around in the FAQ; didn't find anything on this.
First issue, all mono files open up at a sample rate of 22kHz, which causes them to play very slowly. I can change it to 44kHz, which put sit back to normal, but all mono files open at 22kHz, despite the default being set to 44k. Is there another option in the preferences I can change so that all files open up at that rate, regardless of whether it's stereo or mono?
Second, it adds an audio blip to the beginning of any mono tracks I load into Audacity. Is this a common issue, and is there possibly a fix for it?
Thanks ahead of time!

Re: Some issues with mono files
Where did these MP3s come from? Do you know what encoder was used to make them?
MP3 files always have a little bit of silence added to the beginning (it's a limitation of the MP3 format). If the beginning of file does not start from silence, then you will probably get a click where the added silence meets the start of the original audio.
