No waveform

I'm new to audacity and audio editing. The files I wish to edit are MP2's of radio programmes recorded on to SD cards on a DAB radio. The first file was no problem. The second was a much larger file (550Kb). It takes about ten minutes to load. When loaded its name is in the top of the Audacity window but there is no waveform, as there was on the smaller file, and it doesn't play. Both files, the first one edited, and the large file that doesn't play, do play in media player, itunes etc. As far as I can tell the only difference is the size. Is it the size that is the problem? :?:

Try upgrading to Audacity 1.3.12 and see if the problem persists. http://audacityteam.org/download/
