I'm running Audacity 1.2.6 on Win XP SP3. My configuration is M-Audio Firewire 410, connected via Firewire to the laptop. I have two microphones, and can hear them through a headset connected to the Firewire 410 - so that side of the equipment seems to be fine. I can also see the output levels in the Firewire 410 control panel on the laptop.
In Audacity, I selected Firewire 410 1/2 as the input device, but trying to record I just get nothing - a straight line. I tried all the different input devices (Firewire multi, SPDIF, etc.). I tried to play with the mixer input (although I understand it's irrelevant for this configuration). I even tried it with the beta 1.3.5. I still get nothing. I checked "Sound" in Windows control panel - everything looks fine to me. Any idea what's going on? Am I missing anything in the Firewire 410 configuration?

Re: M-Audio Firewire 410 recording problems
See if you can record anything with Windows Sound Recorder.
Both Windows Sound Recorder and Audacity use Windows drivers and not ASIO drivers, so this may help narrow down the problem.
