I'm using Windows XP SP3. I try to record the music playing on the backgound of a browser game.
I don't know the song title and it's driving me crazy, not being able to record properly. When I try to playback the song recorded with using audacity, I hear a screeching sound.
For the biggest part of the song everything is OK, but when the music becomes a litlle louder the problem appears. Are there any options in references you recommend.
This has happened before when I was trying to record music grom a movie, but for some time I didn't experience problems, so I don't thing it's because of the browser.
I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Check that you do not have "software playthrough" enabled (in Edit menu > Preferences)
Check that you do not have a microphone active.
