Recording a Drum Set Question

Post by vulcanis » Mon Jul 14, 2008 7:44 pm

Equipment
2 PreSonus Inspire 1394 FireWire Audio Interfaces http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product?sku=241483V
4 analog drum mics

Will this yield 4 separate audio tracks in Audacity?

It depends on the drivers - Audacity can only input from one "device" at a time, so it will only work if the "daisy chained" devices appeared as a single device. Also, Audacity does not use ASIO so it would need to have WDM drivers.

Having said that, I believe that it comes with some version of Cubase, so you could record in Cubase, and edit in Audacity.
