Getting rid of empty recording time

Post by dkelban » Tue Feb 01, 2011 12:08 am

Hi, and thanks for your help in advance. I recently recorded my band for the first time on the zoom h2. In the beginning, I was mainly recording the band talking, tuning up, etc. ("dead" recording time). Can anyone give me step by step directions for getting rid of dead recording time after I've downloaded the music to audacity. I'm getting too old to figure out program's directions: too complicated for me, lol.

After you have imported the sound file into Audacity, use the selection tool to select the "dead" portion, then do Edit > Delete.
