Please help!

Post by mdc8316 » Wed Jul 09, 2008 6:53 pm

I have been working with audacity for about a year now and in the past two months i have had a very frustrating problem occuring. When i record about 30 seconds into a track it will either start to stutter the recording, completely stop, or the computer will got to a blue screen that says dumping all phyisical memory. My computer has been able to record plenty of tracks before and has never had this problem. I have tried reinstalling it, i have also tried increasing some memory thing that my dad help me with. The last few times i have tried to record i tried recording on the lowest bit rate and format rate but the problem still happens. Please i need some help with this, im big into my music and this is a very frustrating problem.

Possibly your hard drive is getting full (the free HD space available depends on the size of the virtual memory, the virtuial memory is allocated HD space for swapping to HD from memory). Try deleting a whole bunch of files by clearing your cache (delete all your temp files).

After making lots of free disk space, defragment your drive.
