Have mixed 11 Aup files and when I export as ogg or wav it comes out sounding great but when I export multiple files to produce MP3 master it sounds very "tinny" there is a funny "echoy" sound in the background. Why? Please contact direct if possible at [email protected] I'm in a real time bind to complete this project. Thanks,

Not sure from your post if you are doing this or not, but you should always work from uncompressed audio files if possible - When you export the MP3 files, you should be doing this from the original project, not by opening the Ogg file then exporting as MP3.

Try exporting at a higher bit rate (higher quality). 128kbps VBR is about the minimum you should use for decent quality music. The presets in Audacity 1.3.x give good results.

What he said.

Bubbling sound files usually means too low a compression bitrate. So those super tiny MP3 files you've been so happy with are probably doing this to you. Set the bitrate higher in Audacity Preferences > File Formats.

Probably not. AUP files aren't sound files...

AUP Project File

That's an AUP file I opened up in TextEdit. It's a near English language project supervisory file that manages aspects of your show plus many small sound snippets. Have you noticed you can't email an AUP file to somebody? That's like sending the conductor without the orchestra. You can't protect your shows by backing up just the AUP file, either. Same problem. No sound.

The only way to get a single sound file for protection or emailing is one of the Exports. A good export format is WAV. If you set Audacity to 16-bit (not 32 floating) and 44100 in Preferences, almost everybody will accept those WAV files. Mac, Windows, Linux. Doesn't matter.
